I am a computing teacher, working in one of Australia’s leading schools. I have industry experience and more than 15 years of teaching experience teaching IB and HSC. I am involved in introducing STEAM projects in schools. Over the last decade my students have participated in many technology competitions at both State and National levels in Australia, and have achieved numerous 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. Over the last few years, my students achieve perfect scores in computing competitions.

This teacher resource helps the teacher to introduce ‘Game Making’ to the class (1 lesson), then students can work on creating their own 2D or 3D game for 3 - 4 weeks. The animated PPT introduces the topic using two video clips (including ABC news clip on Why game making) as well as class activity description for the unit of work. The PPT explains, Ethics in Game making, what software to use for 2D games and what software to use for 3D games. It also has a link to educational games for students to get ideas, to create their own game.
